An earthquake of magnitude 6.0 occurred near Christchurch, New Zealand. In February, Christchurch was already affected by a magnitude 6.1 event. This and Monday’s earthquake are considered to be aftershocks to the M7 event of September last year, which caused major damages.  First loss estimates for the recent earthquake range from$3 to $5bn.
The Plenum CAT Bond Fund does not hold positions exposed to the peril of New Zealand earthquakes, hence we do not anticipate any impact on the performance due to this event.
